Best time to visit Triund
The best time to visit here is during the months of May-June and September-October. Because the weather here is very pleasant in these months. The tourism of the region is on a constant hike at this time and is well-suited for sightseeing. If you are planning a visit in summer then make sure you visit the nearby trekking trails as the pathways are well defined and the entire routes turn up beautiful.
It gets quite cold in the winter season, so coming here is a good option to avoid the scorching heat of the country’s cities. If you want to trek in the snow, then you can visit this place in January-March. You can also witness the sparkling white snow, when the winter strikes as the cool breeze keeps flowing and the soft shiny snow cover the valleys. The entire region is filled with jolly vibes and this becomes a great time to visit this place.

Local Food and Place to Stay
There are plenty of dining options available on the Triund trek as it’s a famous and popular trek. Cafes such as Magic View, Scenic View and Snowline Cafe are some of the options apart from tea stalls that provide basic refreshments.
There are minimum eating places available here , so the food is quite expensive. One have to spent a lot of money, and the quantity is also not very good. One maggie costs about 100 bucks and hot drinks like tea and coffee costs Rs.40 and Rs.50, respectively.
The much better option is to carry some snacks along with you, so you don’t have to pay a large amount of money just for a small portion of food.
The rest house and the Triund guest house of the forest department allow only two overnight stays. You can book them from Dharamshala before leaving. Double and triple share cottages are available here for around Rs 700.
Other than the guest houses, one can also stay in camps if their isn’t too much snow. Because, during heavy snow, camping is strictly prohibited for the safety of tourists. The cost around 500/- per person.
